Hello, I'm Kurt Hetherington - Provisional Psychologist
As your therapist, I aim to understand your preferences so I can provide an experience that helps you feel comfortable and prepared to explore your inner world and current struggles.
I am a strong believer that nothing happens in isolation, for this reason I am passionate about providing person-centred, evidence-based therapies to help you gain insight into the ways that you interact with the world, yourself, and others. Building upon your existing personal strengths, I aim to tailor our sessions to your needs and help you to develop practical skills that you can draw upon in the face of life’s challenges.
My experience and expertise
I have experience working within Occupational Rehabilitation where I provided psychosocial support and counselling to clients in times of high distress. I have worked with a wide range of presentations including, anxiety and mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, as well as grief and relationship challenges.

My therapeutic style draws upon the core principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with influences from Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Family Systems Therapy, however, above all, I aim to find an approach that is intuitive and natural for each client.
