Trying to manage your mental health on your own can leave you feeling frustrated and stuck. One of my skills as a psychologist is knowing how to best support you to grow a deeper understanding of yourself. Once you know what motivates your emotions and behaviours, you can develop a strategy to manage them.

When big reactions happen in the small moments of everyday life, it can be unsettling, overwhelming and hard to manage by yourself. One of the reasons I’m passionate about psychological therapy is that I’m able to offer my clients practical support for emotional challenges like these.
Hello, I'm Elizabeth Talbot - Clinical Psychologist
As your psychologist, I want to understand your situation, so I start by listening to you with a curious, open mind and without judgement. I help you explore your feelings and behaviours through reflection, to uncover the deep beliefs that sit behind them.

From this foundation of understanding, we work collaboratively to find practical strategies to manage your thoughts, behaviours and feelings. So whether you need long-term support or an occasional visit, you can move forward with more ease, confidence and optimism.
My experience and expertise
I love science, which is why I’m committed to providing evidence-based therapy. I have a huge passion for the profession of psychology and believe there’s a place for hope and even humour in successful therapy.
I treat a wide range of clinical and non-clinical mental health issues, but my special areas of interest are neurodiversity and anxiety-related conditions, including:

-
Anxiety Disorders
-
Depression
-
OCD
-
Health Anxiety
-
ADHD
-
Autism
-
Stress/burnout
-
Personality disorders
My approach is collaborative and client centred. I’m naturally a fairly relaxed person, which helps my clients feel relaxed too. I use a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with influences from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy.
I involve you in all decisions related to your treatment goals. So your therapy is tailored to your preferences, personality and strengths.
I am Medicare registered, and provide therapy sessions face-to-face in Kogarah, or via Telehealth (Zoom or phone).
